CLEVELAND — An unidentified man TASERed an Ohio officer then fled in a patrol car Tuesday.
The officer tried to pull over the car after a license plate check reported the vehicle stolen, Cleveland.com reported. The driver lead the officer on a short pursuit, only stopping after clipping another car.
After jumping out of his vehicle, the officer caught the suspect. The officer deployed his TASER after the man resisted arrest. During the struggle, the suspect grabbed the officer’s TASER and used it on the officer before fleeing in the patrol car, Police Chief Mark Garratt told the publication.
The officer sustained injuries to both legs, the publication reported.
Officers recovered the stolen police cruiser after the man left it in a ditch. No arrests have been made and the suspect has not been identified, Garratt said.
