Spotlight: Rampart USA Corporation dedicated to helping LE agencies source and acquire equipment
The company has built a customer base of hundreds of agencies and forged strong relationships with leading equipment manufacturers from around the world
Company name: Rampart USA Corporation
Headquarters: Reno, Nev.
1. Where did your company name originate from?
Rampart, a battlement.
2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Rampart Corporation was a started with a vision to provide the world's best operational equipment to those who put their lives on the line to protect others. In its early years, Rampart specialized primarily in supporting equipment requirements for special forces. Focusing on the needs of special forces was formidable for Rampart and shaped the way the company does business today. The critical need for fast turnaround times, top-tier product quality and dedicated customer service have all been the standard operating procedure since Day 1.
As our company continued to grow, Rampart expanded its product lines into law enforcement, corrections and other armed government agencies. As our name and reputation spread, we grew throughout Canada. In 2021, we made the move into the United States.
Our business in the United States is focused on officer protection (with a few exceptions). International equipment manufacturers have made incredible developments in protective equipment that have never been brought in a major way into the U.S. market.
3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
We are a product distributor, so we don't have a "signature product." Instead, we staff subject matter experts from around the country to ensure a customer's equipment requirements are matched with the best possible solution.
4. Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?
Many of our products are focused on officer safety and providing new and innovative solutions to police, government and corrections.
5. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
Breaking into an industry that has had so many big players for so long. We've had to brute force ourselves into the market by providing innovative products and unmatched customer service. We've had to build our business one client at a time. We often find that when we can open the door for ourselves a little, we can win business.
6. What makes your company unique?
Our dedication to customer service. I know this sounds corny, but that's truly it. We're a customer service business.
7. What do your customers like best about you and your products?
Customers know that we have the expertise to pair them with the right product for their circumstance. We also have experts who can come provide in-person demonstrations and offer "try-before-you-buy" so customers can get in-field feedback.
8. What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
The stories of satisfied customers. Officer safety, product effectiveness or even a basic upgrade that provide more comfortable ergonomics. We're ultimately driven by the need to better equip those who protect our community. It's easy to get caught up behind the scenes, so hearing real-world success stories is extremely rewarding.
9. What's next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We're still new in the country. We are back to our roots in a sense where we're knocking on doors and grinding to get our products in the hands of customers. We're extremely optimistic for the future and have so far had an excellent reception from the law enforcement community.
