TOLEDO, Ohio — A couple in love went to a Toledo courthouse last week to tie the knot. But for a moment it seemed like the wedding would have to be postponed – there was no minister to marry them. Luckily, the Toledo Police Department was able to procure one.

According to the agency, the couples’ union happened last Thursday when they approached Sgt. Lamb to ask him where to go to get their marriage license. However, there wasn’t an available minister at the courthouse.

That’s when Captain Braun, an ordained minister himself, stepped up. Braun married the couple right outside the courthouse, with Officer Dlugosielski standing in as the best man.

“Toledo Police are proud to announce Mr. and Mrs. Edward Brewster Jr!” the department wrote in a Facebook post.
