ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill.— Authorities say an Elgin man is being held at the Cook County Jail in Rolling Meadows this weekend for allegedly threatening the life of a Bartlett police officer.

Bartlett police Sergeant Michael McGuigan says 47-year-old Robert Dean Homfeldt reportedly called the Bartlett Police Department on Wednesday and spoke with an officer who had arrested him in 2004 for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Homfeldt reportedly threatened to kill the officer.

Police traced the phone call back to Homfeldt’s home, where he was arrested on Friday.

He has been charged with one felony count of threatening a public official and is scheduled to appear in court August 21st.
