YUMA, Ariz. -- Border Patrol agents apprehended 32 undocumented immigrants from two vehicles after a three-hour chase that covered more than 70 miles.
Agents spotted a Chevy pickup and a Tahoe around 7:30 a.m. on Monday. When agents attempted to stop the vehicles, both tried to ram a Border Patrol vehicle and then fled, said agency spokesman Michael McGlasson.
The drivers successfully drove around tire deflation devices in the roadway, and an aircraft was used to continue following the vehicles.
McGlasson said agents from Indio and Calexico, Calif., were asked for help. Indio agents placed spikes in the roadway and stopped the vehicles. Agents took 32 people, including the drivers, into custody.
