(LOWELL, Mass.) -- Police arrested a Boston police officer on Jan. 10 after he tried to buy heroin from a local drug dealer, authorities said.
Daniel E. Dwyer, 34, has been charged with possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic needle and syringe.
City and state police were conducting surveillance on Merrimack Street about 2 p.m. when they spotted a gray sedan, driven by Dwyer, stop and pick up a known drug dealer, Luis Negron, authorities said.
Dwyer drove Negron to another drug dealer where heroin was allegedly purchased, according to police.
Police closed in and arrested all of the suspects. Dwyer did not resist arrest, police said.
