(TAOS, Col.) -- A former deputy marshal of the Taos Ski Valley Police Department is free on $500 bail after his arraignment in District Court on Tuesday on charges of criminal sexual contact with a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and enticement of a child.
Town of Taos police Investigator Barry Holfelder, who investigated the May 2000 incident involving a 12-year-old Taos girl, said former Deputy Marshal Miguel Rodriguez had been indicted by a Taos grand jury on the charges Jan. 11.
Rodriguez, 24, with addresses in both Taos and Santa Fe, left the employment of the village of Taos Ski Valley last summer, Holfelder said. He said that at the time of the alleged incident the girl had been listed as a runaway.
A trial date has not yet been set.
