BEAUMONT, Tex. — Police say Officer Lisa Beaulieu died after she was struck while managing traffic on foot in the early morning of April 27th.

Willie James McCray was indicted yesterday on one count of intoxicated manslaughter.

Court records show McCray had a blood-alcohol content below the Texas legal driving limit of point-oh-eight percent when he was given a breath test about two hours after the wreck.

But Jefferson County prosecutor Ed Shettle says a blood sample taken before McCray was transported to jail revealed he was legally drunk. Shettle refused to release the exact results of the blood test.

Calls to McCray’s family were not returned and it was not clear if he had an attorney.
