Texas deputy constable hurt in patrol car collision

(HARRIS COUNTY, Texas) -- A Harris County deputy constable remains in good condition with a broken arm at Memorial Hermann Hospital after his patrol car was hit in an accident Saturday.

Deputy Clarence Edwards, 40, was eastbound on Clay Road at 8:40 p.m. when his cruiser was apparently was hit by a northbound vehicle near Highway 6, Precinct 5 Sgt. Jason McDaniel told the Houston Chronicle.

Edwards’ car was pushed across two lanes and through a ditch before stopping in a field, McDaniel said.

No injuries were reported to the other driver, according to the newspaper.
