Anthony, Texas Police Chief Ed Miranda is out on bond after he was arrested by two of his own officers Wednesday.
Chief Miranda addressed the media Wednesday night with city council members and Anthony Mayor Art Franco by his side.
He says two of his officers obtained three warrants for his arrest for unlawful carrying of a firearm, once on school premises, another time at a county building and once while on duty.
Miranda’s arrest comes less than a month after he cooperated with an investigation that led to the arrest of two of his officers.
The Chief wouldn’t directly address the issue but says, “any time an administrator takes over, they will run into individuals that resist change. But I will tell you the changes will continue for the betterment of department and betterment of community.”
Miranda is free on a $7,000 bond.
