IOWA CITY — A 20-year-old man in Iowa has been arrested for a “super bad” idea.

WTHR reports Daniel Burleson of Des Moines was arrested for underage drinking in a Iowa City bar. Police said he was carrying a replica of a fake ID that said “McLovin,” similar to the one in the 2007 movie “Superbad,” when he was spotted drinking around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

Burleson allegedly admitted to drinking vodka and showed his actual driver’s license, which showed he was not “old enough to party.”

He denied having a fake ID, but police found he was carrying a Hawaii driver’s license with the lone name “McLovin” and a birth date of June 3, 1981 -- identical to the one used by Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s Fogell character in the film. He allegedly used the replica to get into the bar.

“My work here is done,” Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the movie, tweeted Wednesday.

The New York Post reports Burleson told cops he ordered the fake ID from Amazon.com.

He was charged with public intoxication and possession of a fictitious license, ID card or form. He was released from jail on his own recognizance.

A mugshot released by police shows Burleson grinning.

In “Superbad,” the Fogell character is a high school student who tries to buy alcohol at a convenience store with help from his friends, played by Jonah Hill and Michael Cera. When Fogell gets a fake ID claiming he’s a 25-year-old Hawaiian organ donor, a wild night ensues that includes drinking and hijinks with two police officers played by Rogen and Bill Hader.

“McLovin? What kind of a stupid name is that, Fogell? What, are you trying to be an Irish R&B singer?” Cera’s character says in a memorable scene, referencing U2’s Bono. “One name? ONE NAME? Who are you? Seal?”
