NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas — Police Chief Jimmy Perdue just happened to be in the area on June 17 when he heard a 911 call about an aggravated robbery at the Healthy Foot Spa in the 5200 block of Rufe Snow Drive, according to police.
Shortly after he heard the call, which was about 2:20 p.m., Purdue saw the vehicle described, a red Chevrolet Avalanche, southbound on Rufe Snow.
Perdue contacted police communications and requested additional officers to assist in conducting a traffic stop with the driver, police said in a news release.
Before additional officers arrived, the driver saw that he was being followed and pulled into a business at Hilltop Drive and Rufe Snow Drive, the release said.
Perdue activated the emergency lights on his unmarked vehicle. The driver stopped and was arrested without further incident.
The driver, Dedricke Daman Berzat, 20, of Fairfield, is accused of robbing similar businesses in Lewisville, Hurst, Watauga and Bedford. Berzat faces six aggravated robbery charges.
According to two complaints filed with the Tarrant County district clerk’s office, authorities believe that Berzat hit a woman with a handgun and pulled a handgun on a man while robbing them.
