STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia police lieutenant is going viral for his dance moves that challenge Queen Bey.

Lt. Deuntay Diggs danced and lip-synched to Beyonce’s “Formation” at an expo that collects school supplies for children in need, WLOS reports.

Diggs told the publication he has been following Beyonce since her Destiny’s Child days.

When you’re a police officer but a Beyonce Stan too so you have to get in Formation, literally.

The “Formation” song has been the subject of controversy among the police community this year, with some officers calling for a boycott of Beyonce after the release of what some said was an anti-cop music video and Super Bowl performance of the track.

“People have different interpretations of the video. I don’t take it as an anti-cop song…I like the song,” Lt. Diggs told WLOS. “I was thinking of songs that are relevant to now and songs that would get the community engaged and so that’s why I chose Formation.”

Diggs believes that “Formation” can be used as a community outreach tool.

“I want to show the community that, law enforcement, we’re human, that we have feelings and emotions and we’re really part of the community,” Lt. Diggs said. “I know there’s a lot going on nationally when it comes to law enforcement and the community, so I’m really focused on bridging that gap and listening to people.”
