PHOENIX — More than 300 officers from 10 agencies assisted in a drug sweep in one of the city’s most crime-ridden areas.
A two-year investigation culminated Wednesday with the arrest of more than 40 suspected gang members who oversaw the sale of crack cocaine, ABC 15 reported.
Police Sgt. Sean Connolly said they made a major dent in illegal drug business by incarcerating David Mosley, the ringleader believed to have put workers inside drug-producing “cook houses” to churn out large amounts of narcotics.
“What we did is we took off what we believe are the main suppliers and sources of illegal narcotics and illegal drugs into this community and into the Valley,” Connolly said.
Police seized $170,000 in cash, 19 pounds of cocaine, and $350,000 in vehicles, authorities said.
