MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — Police responding to a report of a disturbance found an estimated $80,000 worth of crack cocaine in a grocery bag hidden in a motel mini-fridge, officials said.
Albert S. Ward, 28, of Cincinnati, was charged with possession of crack cocaine, a felony, police Maj. Mark Hoffman said.
Ward gave consent to search his room Saturday while officers were trying to find out if a man accused of being involved in a disturbance at a miniature golf layout was there, Hoffman said.
The seizure of nearly two pounds of crack cocaine was a record for Warren County, officials said.
Ward, who is to appear Monday for a preliminary hearing in Middletown Municipal Court, is in Middletown City Jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
