NEW YORK — A 42-year-old federal agent fatally shot himself in the head in a waterfront Chelsea park Friday in an apparent suicide, officials said.
The U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement deportation officer shot himself with his .40 caliber service pistol inside Pier 40 in Hudson River Park at around 11 a.m, police sources said.
The agent walked into the building, which houses park offices and several soccer fields, and shot himself in a walkway on the ground floor, sources said.
