PLAINVIEW, Texas — A Texas police chief died following complications from a surgery he underwent to repair an injured knee in June, ODMP reported.
Lonnie Verdell Burton hurt his knee when he fell from a curb on Wayland Baptist University police station property in May. He chose to surgically fix his knee the following month, but died when complications arose after the surgery.
