ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A local fast food restaurant is paying tribute to a deputy who died during a manhunt for a cop killer Monday.

Deputy Norman Lewis was killed Monday in a motorcycle crash while pursuing Sgt. Debra Clayton’s killer.

Lewis visited a local Chick-fil-A multiple times a week for years and became close with the employees, according to WOFL.

“I turned on the TV, and I couldn’t believe it. I just started bawling,” employee Beth Ivey said. “I can’t believe I won’t see him ever again. It doesn’t seem real.”

In Lewis’ memory, the restaurant created a “missing man table,” complete with the deputy’s photo.

“I still can’t even believe it,” employee Danielle Giaquinto told the station. “I immediately had a panic attack, because everyone knows how close I am to him.”

GoFundMe pages have been set up in memory of Sgt. Debra Clayton and Deputy Lewis.
