ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. Officer Tamas Nadas was scheduled to work a Chief’s Overtime shift Thursday at Noon Day Ministries, but learned the shift was canceled because of a power outage.

Nadas saw there were already people waiting for food and knew they’d be unable to get it because of the power outage. Nadas went to McDonald’s and purchased 20 breakfast burritos and 20 apple juices with his own money. Nadas said he couldn’t just go home knowing that people were waiting for food.

“I don’t know how to describe the feeling, it’s just natural I guess,” he said. “Regardless if if have a uniform or not, it was just human to human.”
