This week’s photo of the week comes from Sgt. Carl J. Lafata of the Pacific Grove Police Department in California. Pictured is Officer Lafata with a German Shepherd mix who was discovered abandoned by its owners in a wooded area. The dog was very inquisitive, and kept putting his paws on the trunk of Lafata’s squad car as the officer completed some paperwork prior to turning him over to a rescue worker. Within a couple of weeks of being taken in, the dog, now named Maverick, was adopted and is now the best friend of a little boy who adores him. Quite the happy ending!
