Panasonic has introduced a new body-worn camera designed in part from feedback the company received from cops out in the field.
The Arbitrator BWC features a 720p HD video resolution and a 130-degree wide angle camera with digital image stabilization and low-light capabilities. The water resistant camera is designed for reliability in multiple environmental conditions and weighs 4.6 ounces with a 12-hour battery life. GPS built into the camera automatically records metadata including location, time, and date.
With multiple options for uploading video files, including via Wi-Fi, USB or multi-bay docking stations, the Arbitrator is meant to be used in conjunction with Panasonic’s Unified Evidence Management System – software that is included with the camera. The system offers secure storage for video files taken from the body cam, in-car systems, and fixed surveillance video.
