A man who pulled up on a SWAT raid at a suspected drug house was arrested after trying to flee from police.
Salt Lake City SWAT team members were assisting Midvale police in serving a warrant near 2000 South and 1300 East about 2 a.m. Thursday.
Just as SWAT members were going inside, a pickup truck pulled up in the driveway, said Salt Lake City police detective Kevin Joiner.
The driver fled after officers told him to stop and then crashed the truck into a parked car a short time later just a few blocks away, Joiner said.
The driver got out and broke into a nearby apartment. The tenant called police to tell them a stranger was in his apartment trying to hide, Joiner said.
Police responded and arrested a 28-year-old man, a federal parolee, and booked him into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of fleeing, home burglary, hit and run and having a stolen vehicle.
