1. Where did your company name originate from?

The word “staccato” is a musical term that describes a series of “short, sharply separated sounds.” To us, staccato is the sound of bullets pinging off steel targets in succession. We first introduced the name Staccato in 2019 for our duty and personal defense-oriented pistols. This line was incredibly well received by consumers and professionals alike. We later officially rebranded the entire company under the brand Staccato.

2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?

When the company started in the early 90s as STI, the goal was to make the world’s best shooting handgun that was used primarily in competitions. When we rebranded to Staccato in 2020, our goal was to protect our family and freedom by building a gun that continued the legacy of being easy to shoot well while adding the reliability and durability needed for duty use.

3. What is your signature product and how does it work?

At Staccato, we continue to evolve the platform we created over a quarter of a century ago by building 2011 handguns that are duty ready. This means delivering all the shootability, accuracy and speed of our competition legacy, but with “out of the box” consistency and reliability required by law enforcement’s high qualification standards. To achieve this, we have invested in research and design, and brought precision manufacturing to the art of gunsmithing. The result is a world-class line-up of 2011 handguns that are reliable, accurate, durable and easy to shoot well.

4. Why do you believe your products are essential to the police community?

As a first responder, you will face difficult situations where everything seems hard. When everything else is hard, shooting our guns is going to be easy. Our products are essential to these first responders to make it through any situation and to get them home safely.

5. What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?

The development of the 2011 pushed the industry to focus on shootability as a key factor in handgun performance and created massive demand for reliable pistols that were easy to shoot. As a company, we are striving to get our products into the hands of as many people as possible, but that demand is hard to meet.

6. What makes your company unique?

At Staccato, we believe it’s more than just a firearm. It’s a part of who we are. As a people and a nation, and in the hands of a hero – from everyday citizens to those in the line of duty – a Staccato is a promise of American ingenuity. Precision-engineered reliability. Enhanced accuracy and confidence. Because the better we shoot, the closer we are to the target, the more locked in we are for family and freedom. And that means we get to stay closer with those we love.

7. What do your customers like best about you and your products?

Whatever their level of experience, Staccato 2011 pistols make shooting comfortable and easy to do well. They can easily maintain and personalize their handgun to fit their needs and goals. Lastly, our 2011 platform is proudly built using Certified American Billet Steel to ensure consistency and durability.

8. What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?

The most rewarding part for us when serving our first responder community is forming those relationships and knowing that they help people stay safe and serve others because of our product.

9. Do you support any charitable organizations within public safety or the community? Tell us more.

We always are working to give back, especially to our local community. Below is the list of organizations we have donated to in 2023.

Quarryville Police Department, Fallen Blue, Marine Raider Foundation, 16 Mile Angels (Georgetown Baseball), New Jersey Trooper - Ill Child Fundraiser, Cryo Precision Auction (SHOT Show), Williamson County Republican Party - Judge Gravell, Four Corners Safari Club Chapter, NYPD Asian Jade Society, Dripping Springs Wild Game Dinner, TTRH, Area 4 Handgun Championship, Gamut Challenge – TX and Walton County Georgia Sheriff Pistol Match.

10. Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share about you or your company?

Many people do not know that Staccato has the trademark for the term 2011. Therefore, we are the ONLY 2011, even though there are other companies that have tried to replicate it.

11. What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?

Staccato is in the middle of making a huge move to a new manufacturing facility located about 20 miles North in Florence, Texas. This new facility is going to be more than double our current size, where we can accommodate new range and tour experiences that will be open to anyone! This will all be coming soon by the end of 2023!
