1. Where did your company name originate from?
The PowerDMS brand was created by our founder, Josh Brown. The DMS in the name was originally an acronym for “Directive Management System.”
2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Born out of a need to simplify mountains of compliance paperwork, PowerDMS by NEOGOV has a long history of helping high-trust organizations get control of their crucial information. Since 2001, PowerDMS by NEOGOV has helped customers simplify how they create, track, and attest to policies, training and industry standards.
3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
PowerDMS by NEOGOV is a comprehensive public safety workforce platform that:

Our mission is to support the people that serve the people so our charitable efforts focus on our employees’ local communities. Here are some of the organizations that we support: Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Second Harvest in Orlando, A Gift for Teaching school supply drive and Orlo Elementary School.
10. Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share about you or your company?
The founder of PowerDMS worked in the IT department of Hernando County Sheriff’s Office. When he saw a room full of file cabinets, he came up with the idea of software that would manage policies. The company was launched from his co-founder’s college dorm room.
11. What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We recently announced a professional standards suite: PowerAction, PowerIA and PowerVitals work together to elevate an agency’s operations with streamlined reporting, secure case management and wellness-forward early intervention.
