(TOPEKA, Kan.) -- A former corrections officer at the Shawnee County Jail faces up to seven years behind bars for having sexual relations with two female inmates.
Patrick W. Jones, 35, pleaded guilty Jan. 5 to two counts each of intentional aggravated battery and unlawful sexual relations. He could have received a sentence of 34 years or more if convicted of the original charges of rape and aggravated criminal sodomy, the Topeka Capital-Journal reported.
Jones is scheduled to be sentenced Friday. He resigned his job in late December, seven months after he was suspended.
The victims, a 22-year-old and 32-year-old, were both trustees. Both said that Jones sexually assaulted them in a storage room.
