(DEDHAM, Mass.) - A judge has refused to move the trial of a Boston-area allergist charged with the murder of his wife.
Dirk Greineder of Wellesley is scheduled to go on trial next month in Norfolk County. Judge Paul Chernoff ruled Wednesday that defense lawyers did not show that publicity in the area has been so overwhelming that an impartial jury will be impossible to seat.
Prosecutors say that Greineder stabbed his wife, Mabel, at a park and swimming area near their home in 1999 because she had discovered that he was cheating on her with prostitutes and spending a lot of time getting pornography from the Internet. Greineder told police his wife was attacked after they got separated during a walk.
The judge has reportedly arranged to move the trial to neighboring Essex County if picking a jury in Norfolk proves difficult.
