Connecticut: Man In Motel Standoff Taken Into Police Custody. The man who began a 9½-hour standoff with police at the Sandpiper Motor Inn Sunday was arrested Monday evening after being released from a hospital. It was the second extended standoff he had held with police in six weeks.
