Philadelphia Police Officer Shot After Walking in on McDonald’s Robbery

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A police officer who walked in on a robbery in progress at a McDonald’s in South Philadelphia on Friday night was shot in the shoulder.

Police and robbery suspects exchanged gunfire shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the fast-food restaurant on south Broad Street and one suspect also was hit and taken to a hospital.

The police officer was reported in stable condition at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. The condition of the other suspect was not immediately known.

Police were seeking another suspect said to have fled in a gray minivan windows damaged by gunfire.
