(BALTIMORE, Md.) -- The Tuesday shooting of a North Carolina man by three Transportation Authority officers as his vehicle exited the northbound side of the Fort McHenry Tunnel will be investigated by prosecutors, authority officials said Wednesday.
Kerry Brandt, a spokeswoman for the Maryland Transportation Authority, told the Associated Press that investigators reviewing the circumstances leading to the shooting of Josh Thomas Waterman, 42, of Raleigh.
According to authorities, the incident began when Waterman fled from officers who tried to pull over his four-door Mazda for speeding on Interstate 195 near the BWIA Airport.
A roadblock had been set up at the toll plaza which Waterman’s auto was approaching as it exited the tunnel, the AP reported.
