CARBONDALE, Pa. — A woman was arrested for throwing cat feces on a police officer’s house, still upset over his arrest of her years ago.
Sandra Murphy, 36, of 5 Pleasant Ave. had been arrested by Officer Jeffrey Martin several years ago, and he stated that she has been holding a grudge against him ever since.
According to the affidavit, Martin was working the 4 p.m. to midnight shift on Jan. 18 when he made a stop at his house.
He said he looked out the window and saw Murphy approaching the residence, then he watched as she threw two handfuls of an unknown substance against his house. The substance was later determined to be cat feces.
Martin reported the incident to Sgt. Brian Bognatz upon his arrival back at police headquarters a short time later. Murphy was taken into custody and Officer Dominick Andidora was called in to handle the incident and write up the report.
When Andidora arrived at headquarters, he found Murphy at the front desk window holding a black and white cat. He questioned her about the incident and she said she was still angry with Martin for arresting her years earlier.
She complained that the arrest had ended up costing her $400.
Murphy was transported to central booking at the Lackawanna County Courthouse Processing Center. She was arrested on charges of retaliation for a past official action, harassment, disorderly conduct, and prohibited acts.
