DANVILLE, Ill. — City police officers responded to a call in the 700 block of Oak Street on Monday for a victim of armed robbery.
Officers spoke with the victim, who said he was walking in the area of the 300 block of Clay Street with a bag of fried chicken he had purchased. The victim said he was approached by a black male teenager who displayed a handgun and demanded money, according to a press release from Commander Joshua Webb.
The victim said the suspect realized he didn’t have any money, so he took the bag of fried chicken and fled.
The suspect was last seen wearing a gray jacket and dark-colored pants with a white stripe, and running southbound from the area.
No injuries were reported.
