Police: Victims of burglary aid wounded suspect

The 20-year-old burglar had a severe arm injury from broken window glass

SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities say a bungled break-in forced a bleeding man to ask for medical help from residents in a Salt Lake City home he was trying to burglarize.

Salt Lake City police Detective Dennis McGowan tells KSL-TV that the 20-year-old man had a severe arm injury from broken window glass.

He was hospitalized in critical condition after police and paramedics were called a little after 6 a.m. Thursday.

His name wasn’t immediately released, pending his arrest.

Resident Pablo Solorio says he awoke to the sound of breaking glass and found the man walking through the living room and hallway screaming for help.

Solorio says the intruder had a video game console in his hands but claimed he jumped through the window to get away from people who were chasing him.
