NEW YORK — JetBlue is offering two free flights for every department in the nation to fly to New York to attend the funeral of NYPD Officer Rafael Ramos, who was killed alongside his partner Wenjian Liu in an execution-style ambush.
A representative with the NYPD 25th Precinct thanked JetBlue on Twitter for offering to fly “any police officer in America” to the service, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Christ Tabernacle Church in Glendale, Queens, according to the New York Daily News.
The airline also plans to fly Officer Liu’s relatives in from China through a partnering airline for free, though his funeral service has not been finalized.
Vice President Joe Biden is expected to attend Ramos’ service, according to the report.
