EVERETT, Wash. — Fallen Officer’s Food Drive is collecting items for the hungry in memory of the four Lakewood officer’s killed three years ago in a coffee shop in Washington.
“The Food Drive has grown to honor all officers who died in the line of duty and is a way for law enforcement to give back to their communities,” officer Aaron Snell of the Everett Police Department told King 5.
As the popularity of the food drive has grown, more counties in surrounding areas have begun participating.
“This is something that’s so important to do, not just to remember our fallen officers, but to help our neighbors in need,” said Shannon Sessions, spokeswoman for the Lynnwood Police Department.
The Fallen Officers Food Drive donations will go to local food networks who serve those in need.
