PHOENIX, Ariz. — Kellie Boff received the e-mail that would change Mike Newman’s life on a Monday morning in March.
“One of Bullhead City Police Department’s founding members is in need of a living donor for a kidney transplant,” the e-mail read.
Newman, 57, a retired 20-year police veteran, suffered from chronic kidney disease due to high blood pressure and had been on dialysis for almost a year. He was in the end stage of complete renal failure.
