SEATTLE, Wash. — A Seattle police officer has been accused of driving drunk and hit & run driving on his motorcycle in Snohomish County and is on administrative reassignment from his job.
The officer was identified as 42-year-old David Marley, a 12-year veteran who works in the North Precinct.
Marley was arrested Saturday night by Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies. Seattle police said the department’s Office of Professional Accountability is investigating.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover says deputies arrested Marley after he ran away from a collision in South Everett. Hover says Marley’s motorcycle crossed a center and hit a station wagon. Hover says a 40 year-old man driving the station wagon wasn’t hurt.
Hover says a police dog found Marley in a nearby wooded area, but the dog didn’t bite him.
Jail records show Marley was treated at a local hospital, booked into the Snohomish County Jail at 10:48 p.m. and bailed out less than 20 minutes later.
Hover says a blood draw was performed at the hospital to determine the officer’s blood-alcohol level, but the results of the draw aren’t available.
