COLUMBUS, Ohio — A vehicle cut in front of a Franklin County Sheriff’s patrol car Tuesday, causing a crash that ended up with the cruiser smashing into a house, reports say.
The deputy driving the cruiser was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition, WCMH Channel 4 reports.
The deputy and a Columbus police cruiser were responding to a call of an officer down when the crash occurred, according to WSYX Channel 6. Both cars reportedly were driving with lights and sirens on.
The deputy attempted to pass another vehicle to the left, but the driver tried to make a left turn in front of the deputy. The patrol car hit the other vehicle then veered left off the road, crashing into a house.
The driver of the other car was not injured.
WSYX reports no citations had been issued Tuesday. It’s unclear if anyone was in the house at the time of the crash, but there were no other injuries reported.
