LEXINGTON, Ky. — A Kentucky State Police officer is on routine administrative leave after he shot a man who he was trying to arrest for public intoxication.
A broadcast report by WKYT-TV in Lexington says the incident occurred in Johnson County.
Investigators say the trooper and the suspect struggled against each other and the officer fired his weapon.
The man was taken to a hospital, but there was no immediate word on his condition.
State Police didn’t immediately release the trooper’s name or that of the suspect.
