Ill. cop saves motorcycle crash victim

A police officer from the Kane County town of Campton Hills is credited with saving the life of a motorcyclist

CHICAGO — A police officer from the Kane County town of Campton Hills is credited with saving the life of a motorcyclist whose leg was severed in a crash.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports, Officer Elliot Rose, 30, came upon the scene of the crash, on Route 64 near Fabris Road in Virgil Township, to find Steven Allen lying on the ground. A friend was trying to stop the bleeding from Allen’s leg using a bandanna, the Kane County Chronicle reported.

The bottom portion of Allen’s leg was lying 20 feet away, and he was losing blood fast, the Chronicle reported.
