FORT WORTH, Texas – A Texas community is outraged after a Homeowner’s Association demanded pro-law enforcement flags be taken down.
According to WFAA, several residents put up flags outside their homes featuring the thin blue line in support of Fort Worth Officer Matt Pearce, who was shot March 15 in an ambush by a fleeing suspect.
One resident, Marvin Faulkenburry, received a notice from the HOA that demanded the flag be taken down within 30 days. If Faulkenburry didn’t comply, he faced a $100 a day fine until the flag was removed, according to the report. Faulkenburry replaced the flag with a traditional American flag, which is permitted.
Other neighbors have also been ordered to take down the flags.
“The fact the HOA takes exception to (the law enforcement flag) is insulting, in my opinion,” Faulkenburry told WFAA.
