JONESBORO, Ark. — Hungry stomachs wait for no man – or criminal. That’s why one Arkansas police officer stepped up after a DoorDash driver was arrested before making his delivery.

The officer’s heroic efforts were captured on bodycam video, released by the Jonesboro Police Department on July 1. The video shows an officer knocking on the famished citizen’s door and asking for Sherry.

“You’re Sherry? Alright, your DoorDash guy got arrested, so I brought your food to you,” the officer said.

“Alright! Thank you, you’re awesome,” the woman inside the house replied and the officer laughed.

The original delivery driver was identified as Justin Gist, 22, according to FOX 5. He was arrested for not having valid car insurance and for driving on a suspended license. He also had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in court on a previous charge, according to the report.
