PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — A 15-year-old boy was arrested and charged with felony assault Saturday night after trying to hit a police officer with his car, police said.
Officer Cassidy Perry was on duty at the Shoppes at Park Place, 7200 U.S. 19, when a fight broke out involving a few boys about 10:30 p.m. Perry called for backup. When other officers arrived, one of the teens nearly hit her as he tried to flee in his car. She was not injured.
Police chased the teen through the parking lot until he reached a dead end. He was arrested on charges including aggravated assault, reckless driving and driving without a license, police said.
