ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Creators of a Facebook page accusing the Englewood Police Department and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office of brutality are now apologizing for making false accusations.

According to 9 News, the page - titled “Stop Police Brutality: In Solidarity for Robin Nosaka”, was created on Monday by Nosaka’s sisters, reaching hundreds of people and inundating the Sheriff’s Office with emails inquiring about the man’s arrest.

The Facebook page claimed that police beat him severely and he was in the ICU with a broken eye socket, broken bones, a broken jaw and his mouth was wired shut.

Englewood Police Chief John Collins told 9 News that the injuries were far more minor and were sustained when Nosaka ran from police, the fell when officers shot him with a Taser.

“He had a cut on his forehead and that was essentially it,” Collins said.

The page has been removed from Facebook, and Nosaka’s sisters have apologized for letting the matter get “out of control so quickly.”
