Police are searching for a Pittston man they say slipped out of his handcuffs, stole a police cruiser then crashed it early Tuesday morning in Duryea.
Wanted is Sean Thomas Quinn, 35, of Green Street. He is a white male, 6 feet tall with a shaved head and goatee. He has a red, blue and black tattoo on his left arm.
Quinn was apprehended in connection with a burglary at Nikkis/Gemmas Pizza on Lonesome Road, Old Forge. He was placed in a police cruiser, but because of a missing pinky finger on his right hand was able to get free of the handcuffs, police said.
Quinn fled in the cruiser with Old Forge police in pursuit onto Main Street. The pursuing police car crashed, injuring officer Kerry McHugh and another suspect apprehended in the burglary.
Police said Quinn continued and crashed the car on Ann Street, Duryea.
Quinn is also wanted on various warrants in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties.
Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 to the person who provides information needed to solve the crime.
Call Crime Stoppers at (800) 4PA-TIPS.
