OGDEN, Utah — An Ogden City Police officer is injured and another driver is dead following a collision Thursday morning.

Officer Chris Edwards, 38, was driving home from work about 6:50 a.m. north on Washington Boulevard in North Ogden when a westbound vehicle at 1900 North pulled into the intersection, Ogden police said. Edwards’ police cruiser T-boned the other vehicle.

The 45-year-old man driving the Chevrolet Corsica was pronounced dead at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Edwards, who has been with Ogden police for 13 years, suffered a broken arm and is scheduled to undergo surgery today, said Ogden City Police Lt. David Tarran.

Westbound traffic on 1900 North faces a stop sign at Washington Boulevard, police said; traffic on Washington is not controlled at the intersection.

North Ogden police, who are investigating the crash, have yet to release the victim’s name.
