LAWTON, Okla. — A Lawton police officer was killed in a vehicle wreck, The Associated Press reported.
Troopers say Kevin Schulte, a detective with the Lawton Police Department, died in the crash Sunday night.
The truck he was driving went off the road and Schulte overcorrected, acccording to an OHP report on the crash. After crossing the roadway, the truck hit a tree.
Schulte, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not clear what caused the truck to leave the road.
