SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah — A group of firefighters and police officers helped make a daddy-daughter dance special for the girls who did not have a father in attendance.
FOX13 reported that the South Salt Lake firefighters and police officers attended the Valentine’s Day daddy-daughter dance and escorted girls without fathers present onto the dance floor so they could be included.
“Sometimes we see these kids in less than desirable circumstances unfortunately, so it’s nice to have a better, more fun interaction,” South Salt Lake Police Department Sgt. Darren Carr said.
The first responders attended the dance for the first time this year, but are expected to be invited back for future dances.
