NEW ORLEANS — A cab driver shot a suspect who allegedly tried to rob him Thursday night, according to police.
When the suspect approached the cab driver in an apparent attempt to rob him, the driver shot the suspect in the face with a pistol, said NOPD spokesman Officer Frank Robertson.
The suspect is in critical condition.
The city is currently enforcing new regulations for the safety of taxi drivers and passengers such as surveillance cameras, but some doubt the cameras will help, according to WWLT.com.
It is unknown if the cab in Thursday’s robbery was equipped with a camera.
