MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - Cobb County police are offering a $10,000 reward to help determine who left 17 Molotov cocktails at Pope High School.
Investigators said several incendiary devices were tossed at the Marietta school on the night before the first day of school.
The Molotov cocktails - bottles filled with gasoline and stuffed with rags, then ignited and hurled as a grenade - were tossed on the school roof and at a car sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. Monday, police said.
Some of the devices ignited but the fires extinguished on their own, and no one was injured.
Cobb County police spokesman Dana Pierce said similar incendiary devices were found near the trailers at the back of the school, but they had not been ignited.
Students in the trailers were evacuated Monday so police could remove the devices, but no one was in danger, police said.
Investigators have no suspects or motives in the case.
