NEW YORK — Police officers caught two babies who were lobbed from a second-story fire escape during a blaze in the Bronx yesterday morning.
Officers Paul McLaughlin and Maximo Rosado, both 19-year veterans of the force, were on foot patrol when they responded to the fire at 2504 Bronx Park East at about 10 a.m., police officials said.
Residents standing on a fire escape beckoned for the officers to catch two babies, police said.
Officer McLaughlin caught the first baby, whom news reports identified as two-year old Angelina Molina, police said. Officer Rosado caught the other baby seconds later, police said.
